Frequently Asked Questions:

What everyone wants to know about standard sessions:

What areas do you service?

I'm based out of Dayton, OH but will service clients from Northern Kentucky all the way to Columbus! My car might hate me, but I'm here for the adventure. I love finding new places and fully welcome location ideas (even if they're a little bit "out there").

I am also open to travelling any and everywhere! Interested? Reach out to me for my travel rates!

How do I choose what to wear?

A great place to start is to consider when and where we'll be shooting. Keep in mind what the weather will be like when buying clothes. Being comfortable in what you're wearing is most important, and it 100% shows when you're not feeling it.

Next you'll want to decide on what colors you feel most confident in, or that you feel compliment your skin tones.

Finally, have fun with it.

How long does it take to get my pictures back?

For all of my standard sessions, there is a basic turn around time frame of 3-5 weeks. This is based on how loaded my editing queue is - sometimes it's much shorter than the 3-5 weeks. Sometimes it can take the full 5 weeks. You keep your girl busy!

If you need your pictures by a certain deadline for something, please communicate that before your session to make sure I can make that date!

What are your studio options?

There are several studios that I use through out Southwest, OH.

  • Lion & Ram
  • Mill Street Studio's
  • Something Old
  • Studio 821
  • Locust & Vine

This list only include studios that I have previously booked, but I am open to shooting at any studios that you suggest that I might not have heard of!

What happens if it rains or I need to reschedule?

Don't fret! I like to be as flexible as possible, and unfortunately I can't control the weather. While I am open to shooting in rain and snow, and I am also 2000% okay with rescheduling.

Sick kid? Not feeling great? Dog died?

Not a problem. When you don't feel good, you don't look good - point blank! You're investing in something that you want to look back and know you felt your best. It's fine - just communicate that with me and we'll pick another date!

Can I extend my time and have a longer session?

99% of the time, I feel like the times that I set for my shoots are sufficient and I rarely leave wishing I had gotten more shots. However, if you feel like extra time is needed, I am absolutely here for it!

This is something that I need to know ahead of time so I can work it into my schedule and additional time in 30 minute increments is available for an additional price.

How do I pay?

When you book your session, an invoice will be sent to your email. At a minimum, the deposit must be paid through the invoice. You can pay with a card or with PayPal.

Once you have your session and the balance is due, you can either pay the rest through the original invoice, or you can pay with cash if you'd prefer! I will mark your payment as received and close out the invoice!

What about printing rights?

They're yours!

Yes, you heard right! They're all yours. While I can't guarantee the quality of the prints and where you purchase them from, I don't mind my art being shared. Upon request, I will send you the printing rights for my pictures. Just drop me a line.

All I ask is that you refer me to your office friends when they ask who took the awesome pictures that you have hanging up in your cubicle!

What my COUPLES want to know about Weddings:

How long till I get my pictures back?

I'm sure you're dying to know when you'll get your pictures back, and I'm dying to get them to you!

  • Spend the Day: 2-3 months
  • Meet Me in the Middle: 2-3 months
  • Quick Hitch: 4-6 weeks

What if it rains?

We make due!

I come prepared with an on camera flash, and ready to shoot indoors. However, if you want to go play in the rain and let loose, I'm down for that as well! I'm here to make the most of your big day, no matter what happens. I've shot a wedding in the dark during a hellacious rain storm during cicada season where the bride was almost late for her own wedding and we still made it happen. I got you.

I also offer Post-Wedding Bridal Sessions - more on that below!

Who are your second shooters?

I have a group of trusted photographers that I have worked with in years past. These photographers shoot with the same brand of camera as I do to make sure the pictures are as seamless as possible. I also choose photographers based on their work and how closely they shoot to my own style.

These photographers come highly recommended and own their own photography businesses.

Do you have a contract?

I do! My contract is sent to you at the same time the invoice is sent. It's an outline of what you can expect from me throughout the day of the wedding, and after. It is also an outline of what I can expect from you as your photographer.

Don't worry - I try to keep it simple and my main concern at the end of the day is to make sure my couples are happy!

Do you offer post-wedding bridal sessions?

Sometimes the day goes by too quickly, maybe it's raining, or maybe it didn't go as planned and there wasn't enough time to get all the pictures you wanted. That's okay! There IS such a thing as a do-over!

I offer discounted bridal sessions for my couples that loved their outfits so much they just had to wear them again! Take the pictures you wanted with your boo that maybe were a little too spicy to do in front of your family. Read your vows again without the pressure of messing up in front of a crowd, or say what you meant to say but forgot. These sessions are more intimate and meant to focus on the emotions of the couple.

Can I make payments?

This is a great question, and I do! Traditionally, the deposit is due at booking to lock down your date, and the rest can be payed at any date prior to the wedding date. However, if you'd prefer to pay-as-you-go, I can break payments down into 3 installments!

All you have to do is communicate that with be before creating the invoice!

What people want to know about me:

How long have you been doing this professionally?

My first ever paid shoot was in 2011 - right out of high school. In 2012 I realized that this was more than just something that I enjoyed and wanted to do professionally. I became a certified photographer with LifeTouch Portraits and specialized with babies. Since then, I haven't been able to put my camera down. I started taking on weddings in 2015 and have not looked back.

How would you describe your Editing style?

This is something that I have worked on perfecting for some time, and after much trial and error, I have found that a moody and warm picture is the sweet spot for my photos. I love photos that bring forth emotion or make you stop and study what you're looking at.

What is your shooting style?

Can I say "chaotic"? I that an acceptable answer?

Just kidding. This is also something that I have worked on perfecting over the years! I try my best to connect with you on a friend level during our shoot. It's my goal to make you relaxed and comfortable in front of the lens, and to feel like we've known each other for years after our session. Sometimes the lengths I go to, and the weird things I say to get that perfect candid, Instagram-able belly laughing picture has me questioning my sanity and how other people view me - but it works, because here we are!
